New Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) Blended Course
This Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) Course uses a blended learning format. The first day of material is presented virtually and can be completed at your leisure, with a knowledge quiz after each chapter. Students must complete the online material before attending the second day in person, where the remaining material is presented followed by the exam.
The AFO Course was created for professionals working in public and semi-public recreational pools or water parks. It includes discussions of risk management and pool management as well as training in proper water chemistry, chemistry challenges, and solutions. Participants who successfully complete the course and 50-question open-book exam earn a five-year certification from the National Certification Board in coordination with the National Recreation and Park Association.

Training covers risk management, pool management, proper water chemistry, common chemistry challenges, and practical solutions. Participants who successfully complete the course and 50-question open-book exam earn a five-year certification.
Who should attend: Aquatic directors, recreation directors, water park directors, pool managers, aquatic supervisors, resort and hotel staff, and anyone responsible for the operation, maintenance, or management of an aquatic facility.

Certified Pool Operator (CPO®) Primer Course
The Primer Certified Pool & Spa Operator Course is an online and one-day training program for professionals working in public and semi-public recreational pools or water parks. It covers risk management, pool management, water chemistry, course review, and an open-book exam. The online portion is approximately 8.5 hours.
Who should attend: Aquatic directors, recreation directors, water park directors, pool managers, aquatic supervisors, resort and hotel staff, and anyone responsible for aquatic facility operations, maintenance, or management.
The fee includes the online access code, instruction, review, certification fees, course text, and exam fee.

Certified Pool Operator (CPO®) Course
CPO® certification courses provide the fundamental knowledge, techniques, and skills needed for pool and spa operations. The program covers pool and spa chemistry, testing, treatment, filtration, maintenance, automatic feeding equipment, government requirements, management, and risk reduction.
